Weird Realization
So my family bought a new house and we had to do some renovations to it, so we’ve been moving in for pretty much the entire month of January. This weekend we had to completely empty out the house we were renting so that we didn’t get charged an extra months rent and so we could get the security deposit back. My dad and I have done all the heavy lifting and in the process I realized I’m stronger than my dad.
This may not sound like a crazy or unusual situation, I’m a healthy active 23 year old and he is 50, but I can’t believe it. He’s a coach, football and baseball, and for some reason I never thought I would actually be stronger than he was. The realization made me really think about how my dad is getting older and it scares me. I know he is healthy and will probably live another 30 years baring a tragic accident, but it still scares me.

I remember going to see this in the theatre with my dad when I was little. When I was in college I found a copy on DVD at the Big Lots near campus. It was only $3 so of course I had to buy it. A couple of months ago I was babysitting my nephews and they were bored, so I let them watch it. I told them that it came out when I was around their age, then looked at the case and realized the movie came out in 1995 and that meant it had been 16 years since I saw it with my dad. I suddenly felt really old.

I’ve been really bad about posting lately and I’m really sorry, this is for two reasons: I have been working like crazy on our new house and my computer totally died. I will be posting again more regularly now because I now have a new computer and the house is nearing completion.

The fruits of my painting labors. I still have to retape and paint the stripe a darker cream color, put in the crown molding, and paint the trim, but in so excited for how it is turning out.
I’m exhausted.
I am completely exhausted and I have John McCain arms. I’ve spent almost 10 hours scraping wallpaper, taking out nails, and painting on killz to cover smoking stains. I have to do it all over again tomorrow too. I’m so excited for when it’s going to be done though, it makes it worth it.
